Came across this accident tonight. Looks like no one was injured. My guess is they got some oversteer around the turn and overcorrected into the tree. Damp roads, rear wheel drive and inattentive drivers do not mix.

This turn(one of my favorites) has claimed innumerable victims over the years. There used to be an old barn on the outside of this turn opposite the white house. One corner of it was always relatively new wood because people would run wide and take out a corner. It was torn down when the old lady who owned the property passed away.

She owned about 90 acres. 60 of which she gave to state preserved lands which bordered her property. The rest was left to extended family whom promptly sold it to a property developer. She was a cool lady.
